The trust and the bond between two friends is something that goes beyond all differences. Helping oneself in difficulties and supporting oneself is what matters.

Disability is a very important subject. I chose: red to represent the theme of fear, colored hands to represent trust and finally with the sign of disability I formed the words inclusion and joy as they connect to each other.

My work, which the spectator can touch with his/her hand, is a sort of path not necessarily connected to the sight. The stuck nails with sharp tops upwards, represent the pain. Reaching the end of the path depends on your sting fear and on how much the individual has confidence in himself/herself.

I wanted to represent the state of mind of a wounded and suffering disabled person. The cuts and the jagged surface symbolise this suffering. This work, that could seem tragic and pessimistic, is the starting point for an awareness from which to start, to gain self-confidence.
