MOTHER'S MENTAL HEALTH

Mothers with mental illness face a paradox. We balance on the borderline of wellness, somehow functioning. Help is all-or-nothing, an ironic example of black-and-white thinking. Either we are reported to social services and fear losing our children, or the fact that we get our children to school on time means that the mental health service deem us to be 'too well' to qualify for support.
