KINTUGI JAR- DISABILITY
I was inspired by the japanese technique of kintsugi for the realization of this artwork.
Kintsugi it’s a way to repair broken jar by using melted gold: it is applied on the cracks of the object to make it more resistant ,specially in the weaker part (the same part of the jar where it can be broken more easily).
My goal is to change the point of view about disabled people: a disability may not be a problem but a precious rarity like the wonderful golden crack of a kintsugi jar.
I drew the jar by using trattopen (the style is similar to a print on wood) then I’ve added a golden texture in the cracks of the jar.
