A couple discovers that they are going to have a child. During the pregancy, presentiment increases in  the two characters in the story that the child will have a movement disability, until in the last months of the pregnancy they have certainty about their son’s disability. The son is borne, and will find himself during his life in situations where he will feel different, or better, where people will make him feel himself different, only because of the many physical and mental forms which people aknowledge as such. He will be compelled to face persons who do not have the ability to aknowledge equality among people, and therefore without the open mindedness allowing them to tolerate diversity, incapable of perceiving the person who seats in the wheel chair as a person with equal values and feelings!

Equality ought to belong to our ideas, our thinking, without the need to reach it through reasoning; but if we managed to understand the idea even with just rationality, it would be a first step, and we could start  thinking about a solidal and  altruistic world, especially one where to share thoughts and experiences among “people apparently different”.
