2015 3 DECEMBER, INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, URBINO

  INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH  DISABILITIES

has been celebrated in Urbino, supported by a Crowdfunding on this theme.

The whole project ha been completed, and the Crowdfunding has gone well.

Several places have been involved, i.e. in Urbino the Collegio Raffaello, the ISIA,The nearby town of Urbania has been involved as well.

At 9:30 the International Day has been opened in the Collegio Raffaello, in Urbino, by the local councillors of the Urbino and Urbania local authorities, and by various Associations.

At 11 at the Istituto Superiore Industrie Artistiche (ISIA) di Urbino, via S. Chiara, the prize giving event of the Eleanor Worthington Prize on the theme  INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH  DISABILITIES has taken place. The Prize is organized by the Associazione Premio Eleanor Worthington, and it is open to students enrolled in British and Italian Art schools at tertiary level. All techniques are admitted.

At 15:00 in Urbino, in the Sala del Maniscalco, a performance is shown, centered on works by or about disabled people. The show, directed by  Nunzia Invernizzi,  Artistic Director of the Associazione Premio Eleanor Worthington, and  presented by Maria Lenti, is about readings of poetry by or about disabled people,  by students enrolled in the Centro Universitario Sperimentale Teatrale (CUST),Urbino, and by Bernard Worthington, dramatizations by the Teatro dei Bottoni, Candelara,  live violin music played by Richard Menghin, and photographs by Rio Ceccarini. 

At 15:00 in Urbania, a work on sensorial sensitivation is held, “CRETA CIECA” (Blind Clay),curated by the  Associazione Amici della Ceramica, Urbania. 

Throuought the day in Urbino TV projections on the theme of disability are shown in the "Santa Lucia" Trade Center.

At 21 in Urbino, at the Nuova Luce Cinema, in via Valerio, the film "GENITORI" (Parents, directed by  Alberto Fasulo (2015) is shown, followed by a discussion with the director and some of the main characters. 

The events of the whole day are filmed in order to show them on line.

In February 2016 an exhibition is schduled at the  New School House Gallery in York, where all the works submitted to the Prize will be shown .
